I am a writer and visual artist. I design cover illustrations for my essays, pursue an independent art practice and often bring my artwork into dialogue with my writing.
My art practice is informed by my meandering observations of the world surrounding me. A conversation with a stranger, a snippet read somewhere, or an otherwise unnoticed street scene can all become part of my creative process.
Those are themes I currently explore:

EMOTION SERIES
Tapestries of textile swatches and sewn printed paper, 70 x 260 cm, 2024+ ongoing

Originating from my interest in emotional sensations, our consequent translation into feelings and the often distorted communication of those inner experiences back to the world, I started with intuitive drawings and stitching. The EMOTION SERIES is work in constant change. The resulting sewn printed paper and textile tapestries are informed by pixelation processes.

AT HOME
Photographs, Sketches, Light Boxes, 2021+

Living abroad in a farmhouse on Portugal’s West Algarve, I was intensely confronted with my perception of what being “at home” meant to me. I took photographs and sketched homes where I stayed. In Portugal, in Germany, in France or back in London for short visits. Though I met lovely people and made life-long friends during my stay in Portugal, I couldn’t shake the feeling of isolation and misplacement. Having returned to London as my base, “At Home” is an ongoing project. I am experimenting with photographs printed on unsuitable material or building light boxes made of laundry and cornflakes packaging. I continue to research what truly makes you feel at home.
Paired with the essays What makes you feel at home, Modern Living, Satsang & Surfing and What happened on my life swap in Lisbon.
