Today wasn’t Theresa’s best day. I feel for her. So much work, so much countenance, so much s** from every fricking opinion corner in the last three years. And then it seems to amount to just one thing: There, in all of the UK newspapers. And you are in tears.
Of course, she’s emotional, of course she’s stressed. If I’d been her, guess I’d have quit a long time ago. Guess, I wouldn’t even have had the patriotic guts to embark on such a mind-numbing project at all! Putting someone out of her comfort zone.
Nah, sorry, I like some comfort in some of my zones. But she did it, she followed her call. Hats off.
But that’s not what I want to dwell on. What I think is: We got it all wrong. All of this maniac focus on Brexit, all of this brain ecstasy, all of this nasty excitement. No! Completely wrong subject to focus on in the first place, I feel.
People, we got other things to contemplate and argue about. Generation Z doesn’t go for nothing on the barricades demonstrating for environmental change, multiple campaigners don’t try for nothing to ask us about our mental health and the digital global society and their commercial protagonists-slash-potential-oppressors don’t stop their expansion frenzy for nothing. What are we going to do about it? Maybe we don’t need to? Or do we need to regulate our privacy in even further protecting but non-individual-limiting ways? Do we need to think about how we’d like to live post-industrialism age and entering into a knowledge driven, aspirational and merit-based society? Do we need to think about how we will be earning money – or what is money, maybe we should invent a new currency called social advancement exchange? So many questions I have, none of them about “B”.
