Social Distancing

I have learnt a lot of new things in the last three weeks. No such thing as easy-going stuff that was.

I am currently in Berlin. It’s the 23rd of March 2020. Curfew rumours are lingering in the air but so far have only been instructed and enforced in Munich.

I hear from friends that London has closed all its parks. Dire times.

Every day, I read about new mid- and post-corona scenarios. Some sound clever and balanced, some hopeless and apocalyptic. It’s a stress test of society. The stuff we did so easily when creating all sorts of forecasts in our jobs. Same thing applies here. We don’t really know what the actual results will be but we try to use all of our experience and intelligence to create a future we cannot control. Such is the current situation. The only thing though we can control is ourselves: Being responsible, keeping distance.

I have chosen to stay positive and optimistic. It seems this shocking pandemic might force us to long-term global and local thinking and accelerate some long-overdue societal change processes.

Other people will write about this crisis much more eloquently and informed than I – so I have chosen to capture the current Berlin mood in pictures. You all, please stay safe and please keep your distance.
